Look at these beautiful flowers! There from my sweet sweet soon to be sister in law, Ariel, for helping her make her wedding invitations all week long! (She had also vacuumed and mopped my floors!!! Awesome!!!)
I went home to Michigan to help Ariel with all of her wedding stuff, and we had lots of fun!
It was a multiple step process, and very involved! We enlisted the help of Ariel's 2 step sisters in assembly and Danelle helped us print them all off super quickly at her work. Thank goodness! It was a BIG job! But we finished them in a week!!! Yay!
We made 300 of them!!! I think they turned out beautiful! Here's the finished product...
Her colors are pink and brown, and since my dad is Irish, making Andrew half Irish (it's crazy how that math stuff works, huh?), Ariel wanted a celtic theme. We embossed an Irish Blessing on the front of the vellum cover that says "May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door." I thought that was really cool!
We also embossed a celtic knot on one of the inserts. If you've never embossed, it's the coolest thing. You use a stamp stamped with special ink to stamp your paper. Then you pour this special powder over the wet ink and it sticks to the stamped area. You then dust off the excess powder and use a heat gun to heat the powder. Just like magic, it goes from a dull fragile powder to a shinny raised beautiful and very professional looking design! People pay A LOT of money for embossed invitations, and though it was time consuming and temperamental at times, it's also very fun and inexpensive to do yourself! (It's pretty hard to see the light pink knot in this picture, but it's there, and it's cool--trust me.)
We found a punch made by one of my favorite people--Martha Stewart. it had a bit of a celtic flare to it and ended up being the thing that made the invites so cool!
Ahh! What a beautiful site!!! I think they turned out great and it was so nice to spend time with my sister-in-laws!
Ariel also took me to where they will have have some wedding pictures taken along Lake Michigan. It was beautiful!
Can't wait for this wedding at the end of August! Oh yeah, did I mention that Gavin is the ring bearer? :) Should be a fun time!

Really nice job on the invites. Yall are so creative. I can't believe the big day is so close already! (ps. so glad you got to use the embossing tool again!)
